Josh Neufeld‘s graphic online novel, A.D. New Orleans After the Deluge, has been released with rave reviews:
“[A.D. is] one of the best-ever examples of comics reportage, and one of the clearest portraits of post-Katrina New Orleans yet published. An essential addition to the ongoing conversation about what Katrina means, and what New Orleans means.”
– Dave Eggers
“A.D. is a work . . . of literature, of high art, and of reverence for nature and humanity.”
— Los Angeles Times
“A.D. . . . draws a profoundly human picture of the courage of six Katrina survivors. . . .”
— Vanity Fair
“A.D.‘s … stuning panels … retell the harrowing experience of what it was like to live through the disaster.”
—Rolling Stone
Caught In The Act was lucky enough to catch Mr. Neufeld before his graphic novel’s release and asked him to invite another Brooklyn artist that he admire. His choice? Multimedia artist Doug Beube, an incredible artist who uses books as his shapeable medium.
One of Doug Beube’s creations: W’s Twisted Meaning
Watch this interesting interview as the two talk about how Brooklyn influences their works and the projects they’re presently focusing on.
