Billie Holiday Theatre: Neighborhood Beat Bed-Stuy

Now in its 40th year, the Billie Holiday Theatre was established by the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, in 1972, as a way to keep theater alive in the community, and support local actors, writers, and designers looking to hone their craft. Over the years, many respected actors, including Samuel L. Jackson, Debbie Allen, and John Amos, have helped to establish its reputation as the go to place for relevant and outstanding theater in Brooklyn.
